Tree on a Hill - Season 1

Season 1

Episodes

Episode 1
The world is changing fast in the fading frontier town of Penwyllt, and no-one knows this more than its unlikely heroes Margaret and Clive, who, like the other folk of the town, are plodding their way through life, with routines they've grown used to, full of faces they know and people they trust.
But does anyone really know what's going on inside? Even those closest to you?
Clive feels like he's becoming invisible – especially to his wife Margaret, who he knows is keeping secrets from him. But change is as good as a rest for the couple when they agree to look after Margaret's sister's cat when she and her husband Glyn head off on vacation. Maybe an impromptu night of drinking brandy and cavorting in front of the fire at the old manse will reignite this middle-aged couple's fading flame?

Episode 2
It was an accident, right? A terrible accident. Margaret never meant to hurt Glyn - or did she? After all, does the subconscious ever lie?
Will Margaret and Clive stay and face the truth or will they run? And how are they going to hold it altogether?
All in an instant, the flimsy remnants of normality that Margaret and Clive have clung to all their lives are blown to smithereens forever.

Episode 3
Sgt Ruth Ellis and her less-than-reliable second in command, PC Eifion Richards, are called to the timber yard to investigate Glyn's torched-out truck, but they soon stumble on a bigger mystery, as Glyn seems to have disappeared into thin air.
The pressure is all on Sylvia as Ruth calls at the manse to question her about missing Glyn – but guilt-ridden Sylvia hasn't seen her husband since the night of their huge bust-up, and she isn't about to reveal the whole truth to Ruth.
With a rat in her skull, Ruth decides to pay Lefi a visit – but how much will he reveal about Glyn and Sylvia‘s troubled marriage, and does he have any idea who could have torched Glyn's truck?

Episode 4
What did Haydn see on the night of Glyn's disappearance? How much does he know? And how worried should Margaret and Clive really be?
Margaret's cage is certainly rattled when she bumps into Haydn at chapel, and she can't help feeling that he knows more than he's letting on. Ruth is sniffing around, and Herbie is cornered into a confession about his relationship with Sylvia.

Episode 5
Will Sylvia ever forgive Margaret for what she has done? Surely Sylvia will do anything to save her sister from jail? But can they ever get beyond what has happened? And where the bloody hell is Clive? Is he lost on his own journey, trying to un-Clive himself and learn the language of cabbages?
And what about Lefi? What secrets has Rapado been keeping? Are there ones that might shed some light on Glyn's disappearance?
Ruth is asking all sorts of tricky questions, and with Haydn creeping about at every turn, Margaret and Sylvia will need Clive back soon. Will the dead Glyn be able to talk any sense into him and send home to Margaret and his old life? And will Glyn's last wish be honoured?

Episode 6
With Clive safety back in the fold, Margaret and Sylvia can breathe a huge sigh of relief, but for how long? Because Clive has come home with a plan - he wants to give Glyn a proper burial. Except Glyn isn't a shoulder of pork and shifting his frozen body out of the freezer is no stroll in the park.
Who can they trust to help? Might Herbie be the answer to their prayers? And if so how will Herbie respond to Clive's SOS call?
Will Lefi turn up unexpectedly and suspect foul play? Or can Sylvia keep him distracted long enough for the others to shift the body?
And what about Haydn? Will Margaret finally confront him? Will she find the peace and forgiveness she's been searching for?
Will they be able to honour Clive's promise and finally lay Glyn to rest? Will they return home in one piece with their secret safely buried? Or is there another late twist in our tale?

That winner joins the host on stage for one of more than 70 different pricing games. After three such games, the contestants spin a big wheel -- hoping to get as close to $1 as possible -- in the "Showcase Showdown".
