Episode 1
When human remains are found buried in the central reservation of the M1, Cassie and Sunny begin the task of identifying them.

Episode 2
Cassie, Sunny and the team travel to Middenham to meet Hayley's parents and twin sister, Jessica. The press are already circling in the area and it's clear that unearthing Hayley's body will bring the whole investigation back into the media spotlight.

Episode 3
Peter, Chris, James and Tim are all interviewed by Cassie and Sunny about the time they spent renting a holiday cottage near where Hayley disappeared over the turn of the millennium. James is the first to be called in, and reveals that Tim and Chris both had their families with them at the time. He recalls seeing press coverage of Hayley's disappearance, but never having seen her in person. Meanwhile, Chris is looking at flats with Jamila, who resolves that she needs to know everything about his past before she will take their relationship further.

Episode 4
It becomes clear that the four male suspects have colluded in lying about their version of events on the night Hayley went missing. Jake speaks to Tim Finch's ex-wife to hear her version of events and the team uncover some disturbing information about Chris Lowe's past. Meanwhile, Sunny's ex-wife makes advances towards him and Cassie is becoming increasingly worried about her dad's memory loss.

Episode 5
Cassie and Sunny call James, Tim and Chris back for further questioning following the revelation that they have all lied about their whereabouts on the night of Hayley's disappearance. With Pete having said he saw Eliot climbing back into the holiday home through the window in the early hours of New Year's Day, the focus is on James as Cassie and Sunny suspect his son may have accidentally killed Hayley whilst driving erratically. Meanwhile, Fran thinks she has cracked a code in Hayley's diary.

Episode 6
Under the glare of media spotlights, the team race to find the evidence to prove the identity of Hayley's killer.
