Over the next twenty years he recorded numerous off-color albums as a comedian, which became staples in black households. In the early-70s Foxx became the star of "Sanford and Son" which brought Foxx wealth and fame. After a decade-long free-fall, he made a comeback as the star of the popular sitcom "The Royal Family," and sadly, died of a heart attack during rehearsal in 1991.
