Season 1
The series tells the story of a cruise ship that takes in shipwrecked refugees and is inspired by the book "Bilal" by investigative journalist Fabrizio Gatti. In it, Gatti reports on his experiences during his journey along the Saharan routes, where there are not only refugees from Africa, but also many human traffickers who try to make a business out of the migrants' misery.

Episodio 1
While the passengers on board the cruise ship Orizzonte are enjoying themselves, Captain Arrigo discovers a fishing boat on fire at sea. 28 migrants can be rescued.

Episodio 2
Arrigo battles with the difficult moral choice after being ordered to disembark the migrants, whille a meeting is organised between the refugees and passengers.

Episodio 3
The ship docks in Tunis, but local authorities refuse to accept the migrants, while with the passengers exploring the city, the migrants can freely roam the ship.

Episodio 4
Edith spreads the news that migrants on board will be handed over to the Libyans, while Tareq's past life is discovered by Ibrahim.

Episodio 5
Tareq holds the cruise ship hostage and orders that they return to Italy, and Edith formally takes command.after Arrigo has a panic attack.

Episodio 6
After the ship is surrounded by the military, Tareq demands to arrange a deal, while Dilleta discovers she is pregnant.

Episodio 7
The news of the hijacking goes public, meaning there will be no compromise: Tareq and the others must surrender.

Episodio 8
Tareq makes an announcement to the ship telling his true story, but a sudden death unleashes the rage of the migrants.
