Episode 1
In this programme, Otis the Great Dane faces serious surgery after suddenly becoming paralysed. With damaged discs pressing on his spinal chord, vet Scott Rigg has to perform delicate surgery, which isn't easy on a 62 kg dog. At Five Sister's Zoo, vet Romain Pizzi wants to anaesthetise Dali, a two-metre long Crocodile Monitor, so that he can examine its mouth. It takes a team of six to handle the lizard. And, with lambing season in full swing in Uist, vet Ealasaid Dick is on the road from dawn to dusk.

Episode 2
Vet Romain Pizzi is at Five Sisters Zoo checking out Billy the coati that has been suffering from stiffness, and Lewy the ruffed lemur that has been struggling. X-rays reveal good news and bad news. It's lambing time on Lewis, and Hector Low is constantly on the road helping sheep that are in trouble. And in Forfar, Fiona Crowden is busy at the practice with dogs. Fudge lost his tail and needs his bandage changed, while Rowan has injured his eye.

Episode 3
Professor Derek Knottenbelt is a world-renowned expert on sarcoids – tumours that form on the skin of horses. Sixteen-year-old Spike has travelled 430 miles from Kent to The Equine Hospital at Glasgow Vet School for surgery with Derek. In Forfar, Fiona Crowden is treating a cow that's rapidly lost weight and is running a temperature. She gives her a fast dose of fluids directly into her stomach. And, in North Uist, Ealasaid Dick arrives to treat a prolapsed sheep only to get caught up in a drama with another sheep that is having difficulty lambing.

Episode 4
In this programme, Javier Rincon performs complex surgery on a seven-month-old dog under the guidance of Professor Donald Yool at Glasgow Vet School. Poppy has a shunt – an extra blood vessel that bypasses her liver and the risky surgery is essential. It's lambing season in Stornoway and Joanna Jackson is constantly on the road. At Five Sisters Zoo, the keepers have the challenge of catching Mo the gibbon so that Romain Pizzi can anaesthetise her. He wants to carry out some blood tests to find out why she's not been well.

Episode 5
In this programme, Fiona Crowden is called out to two farms where their bulls have been poorly, and she visits a stalking pony in the Angus Glens that hasn't been well. Some pull through, but it's not good news for the others. At the Wildlife Rescue Centre, Romain Pizzi is kept busy with young sea-birds that have been brought in in distress, and the keeper thinks a swan has been attacked by a dog and needs an x-ray to make sure there are no broken bones. And, in Benbecula eight-month old dog Fraya's owner Stewart has an unexpected visit to see vet Ealasaid Dick while he's on his holidays in the Western Isles.

Episode 6
In this programme, Jane Harley has to test some European bison at Highland Wildlife Park. The species became extinct in the wild in the 1920s and, as part of their conservation project, they are going to be reintroduced to a new site in the wild in northern Spain. But the process is risky. At Glasgow Vet School, George Peplinski, one of the country's leading eye surgeons, carries out delicate surgery on a dog that involves creating an eyelid from its lip. And in Benbecula, Ealasaid Dick faces the challenge of trying to take a sample from a 100kg ram.

Episode 7
In this programme, Scott Rigg carries out complex surgery on Trixie, a five-month-old kitten who broke her leg without her owners being aware. Colin Scott has a huge variety of wild animals to check as he does his weekly rounds at Blair Drummond Safari Park - from lemurs to chimpanzees and lions. And in Lewis, Hector Low spends a busy day on the road visiting sheep and horses.

Episode 8
In this programme, a young pug undergoes surgery at Glasgow Vet School to increase the size of her airway, a common problem with dogs that are bred to look like this and something her owner was unaware of before she bought her. At Blair Drummond, Colin Scott is doing the rounds in Pets' Farm where the mischievous meerkats also live, and he takes part in a training session with the sea lions. Meanwhile, Ealasaid Dick is out and about in Benbecula and Uist tending to sheep and cattle, but when she returns to the surgery she finds an emergency unfolding and she delivers twin lambs in the car park after a struggle.
