Op de grens
De grens tussen Mexico en de VS is waarschijnlijk de meest gesloten en zwaarst bewaakte ter wereld. Duizenden kilometers prikkeldraad, betonplaat, camera’s, hekwerk, uitkijkposten, 4wheeldrives, verrekijkers en kaki uniformen met aan de andere kant duizenden reikhalzende Mexicanen hunkerend naar een mogelijk beter bestaan. Het verdedigingswerk is echter op een punt onderbroken en open. Want dat stukje Amerika is in Indiaanse handen. Bovendien is het woestijn, de Sonora woestijn en geldt als levensgevaarlijk en volstrekt onbegaanbaar.
