Dule Pacov se druži sa lokalnim moćnicima u Barandi i planira da otvori prvoklasnu kafanu u selu. Ekser sačekuje ženu svog života koja je zabrinuta što danima nije uspevala da ga čuje i vidi. Poziva je na večeru. Zabrinuti Milenko traži savet od Deše Inhofa kako da vrati rode u selo. Malo kasnije advokat saopštava nepoverljivom Deši da mu je Toza ostavio zlatan sat koji Deša ne želi da uzme. Posle nekoliko dana, Dule od Vražalića tobože kupuje stan svojoj devojci očekujući da ga Vražalić uvede u ozbiljan biznis. Pokušaće da nagovori Eksera i Krlju da mu omoguće dolazak do početnog kapitala. Otac od Švabe očekuje da se što pre oženi, jer želi unuke. Švabina majka otkriva advokatu da je od tetka Smiljke saznala da joj je Toza biološki otac. U Barandi Dušanka hoće da se obesi, jer njen Ratko voli Jadranku i više ne živi sa njom. Ratko je sprečava, te se svađa sa Jadrankom. Stavlja sebi omču oko vrata dok se Dušanka i Jadranka tuku zbog njega. Stolica mu se izmiče pod nogama i on ostaje da visi...
