The Liberators
W5's special documentary, The Liberators, details the heroic efforts of Canadian troops who brought freedom and dignity to the people of the Netherlands in the Second World War. It's a story of liberation, told through the voices of Canadian veterans who fought there, and from the Dutch who honour the Canadians' sacrifices.

Plea for Mercy; Life + Death
A Canadian man serving a life sentence in a Florida prison for first-degree murder wants to serve the remainder of his time in a Canadian facility. The long-term effects COVID-19 are still unknown. W5's Avery Haines investigates what happens to someone after spending weeks on a ventilator and beating the disease.

Alone ; Love & Money
For teens who grow up in foster care, turning 19 can be incredibly daunting. W5 speaks with teens who have aged out and get cut off from emotional and financial support, leaving them at risk for poverty, drug use and suicide. Investigative correspondent Avery Haines speaks with victims, including a divorced mother of two who was bilked out of nearly 2 million dollars.
