Set against the backdrop of Republican-era Shanghai, Xu Yanzhen, an orphaned painter with extraordinary artistic talent, unexpectedly crosses paths with Jiang Xinyu, the chief accountant of Ronghui Bank, who has been framed and pushed into a desperate situation. Forced into an uneasy alliance, the two soon uncover a scheme to sell a priceless national treasure painting to foreign buyers at a bargain price. Using her remarkable forgery skills, Xu Yanzhen creates a flawless replica, allowing them to secretly swap the original masterpiece. As powerful forces close in from every side, Xu Yanzhen and Jiang Xinyu navigate a web of deception and danger with courage and ingenuity. Together, they overcome one peril after another, unravel hidden conspiracies, and fight to protect their country's cultural heritage.
