A Promise in Silver
Keyfree and Tata take Coco, who has fallen ill, to the hospital. Tata has become suspicious of Keyfree's recent behavior and tries to confront him about it, but he evades her questions. Meanwhile, she learns that Coco, despite being an "unknown," has become Keyfree's apprentice, and she feels a complex mix of emotions as she relates it to her own situation as someone with "silver-colored disease." That night, while Keyfree is busy responding to a fire in the town, Tata searches the medicine storage room for a drug that is difficult to distinguish by anything other than color in order to save Coco, whose condition has worsened.

The Test in Serpentback Cave
"My specialty is drawing straight lines." Coco, her eyes shining, intently reads the textbook, her mind even more focused on studying magic. Meanwhile, Riche shows no interest in looking at or trying to memorize the magic in the textbook. Keyfree gently urges her to look at the textbook, but Riche gets angry and storms out of the room. Just then, news arrives at the atelier about the second "Pentagram Test."

The Shadow of Romonon
Agate and Riche, along with Yuini, a wizard's apprentice from another atelier, take the second test, "A Knight's Loyalty." However, while Agate is eager to pass as quickly as possible, Riche seems unenthusiastic. Following the instructions of the test supervisor, Alaila, the three proceed along the path of the Serpent's Back Cave, trying not to let their identities be discovered by the sea beast bird (Melphon) they are protecting.

Forbidden Magic
Agate, Riche, and Yuini are separated from Alaila due to an attack by the "Hari-hat" group. They try to escape their pursuers by using the magic each of them can use to cooperate... Meanwhile, Keyfree, Coco, and Tetia, who were waiting outside, become aware of the situation when Alaila sends out an SOS, but are attacked by the enemy, and Keyfree is seriously injured while protecting Coco and Tetia.
