David begins his series exploring the scenic beauty, history, and culture of Scotland with a journey into the Highlands and Islands across Argyll to Glencoe.
Along his way, Hayman visits Easdale Island – once the centre of the Scottish slate industry and now home to the World Stone Skimming Championships – and goes on to the notorious Corryvreckan Whirlpool before reaching Glencoe and a brutal engineering masterpiece of the early 1900s: the Blackwater Dam.

Lewis and Harris
David heads to Lewis and Harris to discover the hardships of crofting, finds out how local artists gain inspiration from the landscape, and takes in the stunning scenery at Luskentyre beach.

Speyside to Cairngorns
David Hayman continues his series exploring the scenic beauty, history and culture of Scotland with a journey into Speyside and the Cairngorms. There he fulfils a childhood dream aboard a restored steam train; feeds Nordic reindeer and canoes down the River Spey to seek out the oldest living thing in Britain.

East Lothian and the North Sea
The Scottish film actor David Hayman ends his series exploring the scenic beauty, history and culture of Scotland with a journey along the rugged North Sea shores of East Lothian. There he takes a trip to Bass Rock; calls on the ghostbusters of Tantallon Castle and discovers the origins of Scotland's national flag and of Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island.
