Sam Allardyce takes the helm for his first game in charge, as England travel to Slovakia for their opening World Cup Qualifier. After England's ill-fated European Championship campaign, all eyes will be on the new coach as he looks to make an immediate impact. In Group F, Scotland travel to Malta for their first match but coach Gordon Strachan will have to do without the services of Celtic midfielder Scott Brown, who retired from international football over the summer.
