World's Most Scenic River Journeys - Season 2

Season 2
Episodes

Bure, England
The documentary telling the stories of epic trips along waterways returns with a look at the River Bure. Cameras travel from the tranquillity of the upper river, through the holiday hub of Wroxham, and through historical open fenlands.

Dordogne, France
This week, we escape on a magical voyage through the green heart of southwest France. We travel by traditional boats down a once-vital waterway, and we take a hot air balloon high over fairytale castles, which hide a turbulent past, but now form a tranquil playground. Guided by those who live, work and play in the handsome towns of the Dordogne, we go hunting for truffles on its banks and drink the wine it produces, as we experience the culinary delights of the river. And we take a trip aboard a luxury cruiser to a lighthouse built for a king.

Guadalquivir, Spain
The latest journey begins on the Guadalquivir, Spain's second longest river. Cameras also focus on the great Muslim city of Cordoba, and there is a visit to the water gardens of the Alcazar, before travelling on to Seville. There the spotlight shines on a paralympic oarsman.

River Suir, Ireland
Bill Nighy narrates a journey down Ireland's River Suir. From its headwaters in Devil's Bit Mountain, County Tipperary, down to the Hook Lighthouse in County Wexford, it's a river that flows with the history of the Emerald Isle.

The Yukon, Canada
Cameras trek up to Canada's far northern reaches for a rough and tumble journey down one of the wildest rivers in the world, the Yukon. The unusual trip starts in an aircraft piloted by a painter, and the odyssey ends with a visit to a graveyard of disintegrating rear-wheel steamers.

The St Lawrence

Buller River, New Zealand

The Potomac
Cameras travel down the Potomac, and float in the river valley that was surveyed by a young George Washington. The journey ends at America's 'prettiest body of water', Chesapeake Bay. Here we join a marine biologist who searches and helps protect the much adored bottlenose dolphins.

The Neretva
Narrated by Bill Nighy, this is a journey down Bosnia and Herzegovina's Neretva River, which flows like a healing balm through a country riven by war. At its headwaters high in the Dinaric Alps, a place where bears and wolves still outnumber humans, we begin our journey with Amel Emric. He is a veteran war photographer, who covered the destruction of his country in the 1990s

Doc
Doc centers on the hard-charging, brilliant Dr. Amy Larsen, Chief of Internal and Family Medicine at Westside Hospital in Minneapolis. After a brain injury erases the last eight years of her life, Amy must navigate an unfamiliar world where she has no recollection of patients she's treated, colleagues she's crossed, the soulmate she divorced, the man she now loves and the tragedy that caused her to push everyone away. She can rely only on her estranged 17-year-old daughter, whom she remembers as a 9-year-old, and a handful of devoted friends, as she struggles to continue practicing medicine, despite having lost nearly a decade of knowledge and experience.

The Pitt
The Pitt is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today's America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Each episode follows an hour of Dr. Robby's 15-hour shift as the chief attendant in Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital's emergency room.

Sheriff Country
Sheriff Country focuses on straight-shooting sheriff Mickey Fox, the stepsister of Cal Fire's division chief Sharon Leone, who investigates criminal activity as she patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater while contending with her ex-con father, Wes, who is an off-the-grid marijuana grower, and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter.
