Arpita comes to Kolkata with her husband, Shubhankar, to meet her in-laws. Having married without their consent, a pregnant Arpita hopes to be accepted by them. In a temple, she prays to Goddess Durga to bless her with a baby girl when she meets a little boy named Shantanu. She gets frightened when Shubhankar brings her to a strange area filled with women dressed in flashy garments, instead of his parents' place. As she tries to make sense of her surroundings, the truth soon dawns on her.
