Crisis at the Summit
Jim Hacker's European Conference shows no sign of solving the financial crisis that is threatening his fragile government. But salvation is at hand: Kumranistan is offering Europe a huge loan as an incentive to purchase their newly discovered oil reserves. What Sir Humphrey does not want Jim to know, however, is that there is a condition: Britain must join the Euro, which is against everything Jim believes in.

The Poisoned Chalice
After exposing Humphrey's scheme to get Britain into the Euro, Jim holds a dinner at Chequers to welcome the Kumranistan Foreign Secretary and pave the way for the massive loan that will save Europe. Meanwhile the BBC are planning a major TV programme on the Government's crisis. When the BBC Director General arrives, Jim uses the threat of BBC reform to get himself a chance to appear live at the end of the programme.

Gentleman's Agreement
To begin with, it looks as if Jim has defeated Humphrey's scheme to get Britain into the Euro. But Bernard tells Humphrey he has found evidence of some dodgy expenses claims by Jim when he was in opposition. However, when Humphrey tries to use this lever, he discovers that Claire has unearthed some of his own equally dodgy expenses claims. So they come to a gentlemen's agreement, and Britain is saved from the Euro.

A Diplomatic Dilemma
Just as it looked as if the huge Kumranistan loan agreement was all done and dusted, Bernard arrives with a ticking time bomb: unless Jim can provide certain unusual sexual arrangements for the night, the deal is off. If Jim agrees and it comes to light, that would be the end of his political career. But if he refuses, the one hope of Europe's economic salvation is doomed. What can he do?

Scot Free
While PM Jim is struggling with the problem of how to deal with the unorthodox sexual requirements of the Kumranistan Foreign Minister, another crisis strikes. Meanwhile, the Deputy Prime Minister, Rory McAlister (Robbie Coltrane) is threatening to withdraw his party's support and transfer it to one of his cabinet colleagues. The price of loyalty is massive concessions to Scotland. What is Jim to do? Fortunately, Sir Humphrey is there to tell him.
