At the border between Jinglan and the Manchu Changmo, there is a frontier fortress called Tianlang Pass. General Xiao Chi, renowned as the "White Horse God of War," is at his subordinate's wedding banquet when he is caught trying to sneak a drink by his guards and the army cook, who forces him to drink drugs. Amid the jeers of the crowd and his pleas for mercy, the bride, Han Yunling, arrives in a red veil to perform the wedding ceremony, and he obstructs her final bow. Just then, someone reports that the bride has been forced into marriage. He swiftly dismisses the groom and imprisons him, then personally interrogates the bride.
