Episode 1

Kicking off the first episode is a look back at hit daytime show This Morning, which has proved to be a hot spot for fresh new talent since it hit screens in 1988.

Long before her role on Coronation Street, a fifteen-year-old Kimberley Marsh is seen auditioning in a This Morning singing competition back in 1990 and, before she sang for Popes and Presidents, Charlotte Church is seen singing for then presenters Richard and Judy.

This Morning's search for a new boy band generated queues of young men eager to impress the judges, which included Kate Thornton and Simon Cowell. One keen young singer performing on the show was Will Young, who went on to win a place in the boy band alongside a 16-year-old pre-Blue Lee Ryan.

Episode 2

Prepare for another fun-filled romp through the archives as Robert Webb reveals the television debuts of some of Britain's best-loved actors and actresses, presenters and pop stars in You Saw Them Here First.

Before getting their big breaks, many of today's pop sensations had graced our television screens as young hopefuls trying to make their stamp on the music industry.

Years before singing at the 2012 Olympics, Emile Sande performed on Trevor Nelson's Lowdown using her real name Adele. At just 16, and sporting long curly brown locks rather than her trademark blonde quiff, the singer was a runner up in Trevor's urban talent search. Other classic clips featuring well-known pop stars include: Aston Merrygold performing as a young Michael Jackson on Stars In Their Eyes; a ten-year-old Cheryl Cole ballroom dancing; Claire from Steps in girl group TSD performing with Mr Motivator; and Jessica Cornish, now better known as Jessie J, trying to prove she's one of Britain's Brilliant Prodigies.
