Larisa is a strong woman who has long been accustomed to dealing with any problems on her own. She alone raises a difficult teenage son, earns her living through hard work, and has long despaired of finding personal happiness.
Larisa's neighbor, wanting to take possession of her house, brings the heroine together with her nephew Oleg, a narrow-minded martinet. Tired of endless loneliness, Larisa tries to build a relationship with him, but the conspiracy is soon revealed...
Suddenly, Larisa witnesses how the police detain an undocumented man on the street. Having warmed up to the stranger, the heroine helps him free and pays a fine for him. The next day, the rescued man appears at her house, but not at all to repay the debt - he asks Larisa for an overnight stay. In anger, the heroine drives him away, but subsequent events radically change the woman's attitude towards this man, who appeared so strangely in her life...
