When Elkinson's memory seems to be failing him, it is more than his personal happiness that is at stake - the lives of his passengers could be endangered. His problem soon becomes one for the air security officers.

Glidepath
In tonight's episode, the pilot of a plane bringing the president of a Middle Eastern state to London. But during the flight it is discovered that one of the tyres has been tampered with - and the plane will explode on landing. Jimmy Delaney, Garnett's American assistant accompanying the president, has to make a decision that may well cost the lives of all on board.

The Liar
On a flight from Montreal, young Mrs Clandon dies, apparently of heart failure, another passenger, the elderly Mrs Pendenny accuses Mr Clandon of murdering his wife. Obviously her charges must be investigated - but Mrs Pendenny is known by her friends, among them Mrs Trapp, to be an incorrigible liar …

The Contender
A tip-off reveals that an attempt will be made to knock out a heavyweight championship contender on an airline flying from Los Angeles - before he can even reach the ring in London.

The Bovard Affair
Garnett, personally escorting a valuable painting to an art museum in New York, finds on arrival that he has been guarding a fake. He feels it is his duty to trace the real masterpiece as quickly as possible.

Fly Away Peter
Many children make long journeys alone in planes, but when little Peter Firth arrives from Chicago and there is no one to meet him, he becomes just another responsibility of Zero One.

Return Trip
A young woman suffering from loss of memory in Chicago, and a murder the same evening in Detroit…it takes the astute mind of Garnett to suspect, and eventually prove, a connection between the two.

The Marriage Broker
Trying to sort out a marriage problem may be nothing to do with Air Security, but Garnett finds himself acting as a marriage broker when he is faced with a formidable Greek family with two unmarried sons, and a pretty girl who has come all the way from New York to marry one of them.

Someone on board a flight from New York is being kidnapped, and Airline Security chief Alan Garnett has the difficult task of trying to find out which passenger it is.

Million Dollar Lift
When Archy Vance, released from a United States prison, flies to London, he is recognized at the airport by Garnett, who puts Delaney on trial. Delaney soon finds himself deeply involved in a robbery which is as startling as it is audacious.

Maya begins to suspect that her brother may be implicated in narcotics smuggling when he starts to spend far more than an air steward's salary. Since he got the job on her recommendation this places her in a spot.

When Air Security is called in to investigate the death of an elderly passenger, who apparently fell through an open door on a cross-Channel flight, Alan Garnett finds himself mixing with out-of-work actors.

The Man Who Waited
Garnett and Delaney wonder what a professional assassin can be doing at the unimportant Middle East airfield of Garobo.

Danger on Cloud Seven
When a luxury air tour of Europe proves dangerously expensive to one of the wealthy tourists, Garnett joins the party and almost becomes a blackmail victim himself.

The Ministry of Time
The Ministry of Time, a newly established government department, is gathering ‘expats' from across history in an experiment to test the viability of time-travel. Commander Graham Gore (an officer on Sir John Franklin's doomed 1845 Arctic expedition) is one such figure rescued from certain death – alongside an army captain from the fields of the Somme, a plague victim from the 1600s, a widow from revolutionary France, and a soldier from the seventeenth century.
The expats are placed with 21st century liaisons, known as 'bridges', in unlikely flatshares. Gore has to learn about contemporary life from scratch: from air travel to industrial warfare, from feminism to Spotify, from cinema to indoor plumbing; and he must negotiate cohabiting with the ambitious modern woman who works as his bridge. After an awkward beginning, the pair start to find pleasure and comfort in each other's company, developing a relationship that is simultaneously tender, intense and profoundly unprofessional; and the expats, adrift in a new era, form friendships that ground and support them in the lonely 21st century, where they have outlived everyone they ever knew and loved.
When a deeper conspiracy at the Ministry begins to reveal itself, the bridge must reckon with what she does next. Will she save or sacrifice the exiled misfits she has come to care for so deeply?
