When Geertrui, a mother, is slashed in her home, Tom concentrates on her husband Renaat. He admits to have had an affair with office colleague Caroline, who went missing. Ruige reports his girlfriend Tess, the daughter of senator Verbesselt, has been missing for a week, but is shamelessly ignored as usual. Only after he finds out she has serious gambling debts, Tom takes an interest in what proves to be the major case.
