Being a Hero follows two brothers - the lonesome hero Wu Zhenfeng and the anti-drug policeman Chen Yu on a mission to bring down the crime syndicate.
Three years ago, Wu Gang was killed by the powerful drug trafficking syndicate called K. His son Wu Zhenfeng is subsequently expelled from the police force due to his reckless actions. Ashamed, Wu Zhenfeng tries to leave but his younger brother Chen Yu stops him at the border. They are attacked and Wu Zhenfeng gets taken away by drug dealers in his attempt to save Chen Yu.
Wu Zhenfeng has been missing since then and it was at this moment that the fates of the two brothers were completely rewritten. Three years later, Chen Yu has become a full-fledged policeman. Wu Zhenfeng unexpectedly returns and becomes a suspect in a murder case. After Wu Zhenfeng is cleared of the crime, Chen Yu discovers Wu Zhenfeng's heavy connections to the drug ring. Can the two avenge their father?
