From preparing land for planting, welcoming new arrivals, to milking and mucking out, Farmers' time is precious, and they can't be in a million places at once. But machines can help sort that, and the Nicholson family are all for saving time, especially when the spring lambing season is on the horizon. So, Rob and Dave bring in sheep scanner man Robert Garth so they know how many lambs to expect at springtime.

Jules Hudson visits a soft fruit farm in Kent and discovers how robots are transforming the rural labour market by helping spot fungal infections that are threatening strawberry crops.

JB Gill visits a vegetarian and vegan sausage maker in Bedale, North Yorkshire to see the state-of-the-art technology that creates the perfect environment to grow the different types of herbs required for the different flavours of sausage. JB then heads to the Southeast of England to meet a producer who owns the largest greenhouse complex in the UK and cutting-edge tech to grow 750,000 red peppers every year.

In Lincolnshire, farmer Ian Watson shows off his high-tech kit that allows him to optimise the pea harvest and his powerful new machine that has revolutionised working methods.

Whizz-kid mechanic Reuben Owen goes old school when he is asked to refurbish a 50-year-old piece of farming machinery at Cannon Hall Farm.

In North Lincolnshire, Farm Manager Peter Harriman trials the world's largest combine harvester which can collect more than 100 tonnes of grain per hour.

Back at the Nicholson's farm, Rob and Dave call in Yorkshire Vet David and his specialised dentistry kit when John Bon the pony starts to look down in the mouth.
