The Wedding
Stephanie Chang, from a Chinese family meets Ajay Chabria, from an Indian family; they have fallen in love and plan to marry. Their main problem—nosy, fussy, interfering parents.

Home Sweet Home
Stephanie and Ajay return from their two week Hawaiian honeymoon expecting to begin their life together in a freshly redecorated apartment only to find that their parents interference has caused the contractor to quit.

Lock and Key
As Stephanie and Ajay settle into their apartment the parents attempt to beg borrow or steal copies of the keys.

Mahjong and Masala
Uma insists on giving Stephanie lessons on Indian cooking. To save herself from the cooking lessons Stephanie begs her mother to teach teach Uma how to play Mahjong. Owen shows up very drunk when his new girlfriend dumps him.

Steph's Secret
Ajay and Stephanie discuss getting a pet. Eavesdropping Walter thinks Stephanie is pregnant and tells Vincent, Rosalind, and Uma. When the happy couple deny the pregnancy, their parents think an abortion is being planned. Walter starts an internet relationship with someone he believes is an older woman and sends her picture of Ajay. The woman in reality is an 11 year old girl whose parents report Ajay to the police.

Runaway Boy
Uma uses Stephanie's busy work schedule as an excuse to baby Ajay, who is trying to study for exams. Walter's overly attentive parents are driving him crazy since Stephanie moved out so he runs away—to Stephanie. Meanwhile Ajay has also run away—to Walter's parents.

The PlayStation
It's their six-month anniversary but Owen forces Stephanie to work late on a new ad campaign. Walter feels that his parents are nagging him so he packs up his PlayStation and sneaks off to the Chabria's apartment. Ajay becomes addicted to PlayStation and convinces Walter to leave it with him. Stephanie comes home at 4 am and is furious to find Ajay playing video games.

The Perfect Couple
Vincent is injured trying to change an light bulb, requiring physiotherapy from a cute young woman. Jealous Rosalind, accompanied by Uma, spy on his gymnasium session. Stephanie is driving Ajay mad with her obsessive reading of woman's magazine articles.

The Breakable Bowl
Uma calls a mysterious special family gathering. A bored and curious Stephanie sneaks upstairs. An accident occurs and Stephanie thinks that she has broken the object that the family has been called together to see (Lakshmi had dropped it earlier). While Stephanie and Lakshmi desperately attempt to repair the broken Chabria family treasure, Vincent tries to distract Uma by teaching her to play "Twenty Questions".

Getting to Know You
Attempting to know Vincent better, Ajay is continually causing him injury. Stephanie plays matchmaker between her boss and Uma.

Dancing Queen
Vincent is jealous of Rosalind's dance instructor and gets Uma to take dance lessons with him to keep an eye on Rosalind. Stephanie says no when Owen wants her to give a dinner party for a woman he is trying to impress, so he talks Ajay into hosting the party.

An Affair to Remember
Ajay's wedding ring mysteriously disappears when his pushy ex-girlfriend, Priya, is visiting from India. Lakshmi's family sends her a suitor, so Uma decides to teach her how to become a proper Indian woman.

Love Struck
Walter is frustrated by girls rejecting him. At a family dinner Walter asks, "What is love?", and each family member recalls how they knew that they were in love.
