Advokaten - Season 1

Season 1
Episodes

Afsnit 1
As kids, Frank and his adoptive sister Sara watched their parents die in a car bombing. The perpetrator was never caught, and the two siblings were split up to be raised in separate foster homes. Frank has matured into an ambitious defence attorney. But when offered a job by star lawyer Svend-Erik Wisén, Frank is quick to turn the position down. Contrary to Svend-Erik, whose moral flexibility has earned him the local crime boss Thomas Waldman as a client, Frank would much rather lose a case than bend or break the rules. Sara does not share her brother's reverence for the law, despite having followed in her father's footsteps to become a police officer. When Sara tracks down one of her father's old colleagues, Jarnu, he tells them he is certain it was Thomas Waldman that killed their parents, long before he became the top criminal he is today.

Afsnit 2
At his new office, Frank will have to shape up if he wants to fit in. Not only is he told to buy a tailored suit, Svend-Erik gives Frank one week to prove himself by winning a case. If he fails, he will be fired. Pushing through the pain of her gun wound, Sara uses her police contacts to investigate Waldman. When he turns out to be clean she turns her gaze toward his number two, Bogdan Nikolitch. It turns out that Bogdan runs a building firm as a front for Waldman, and that one of its employees, Brian, has been charged with aggravated assault. More importantly, Brian is a client of Svend-Erik.

Afsnit 3
Frank is determined to use Bogdan to get to Waldman, so when he learns that one of Bogdan's decoys is under trial for tax evasion, he cleverly tricks his colleague into giving him the case. Unfortunately, the prosecution is led by none other than Patricia Staaf, who up until their recent breakup had been Frank's lover. Before he can get on the case, a beat-up Brian shows up on Frank's doorstep and begs for his help. Since Frank got him off the hook so quickly, Bogdan is certain that Brian is a snitch and is sure to have him killed unless Frank helps him out. Frank agrees on one condition, that Brian testifies against Bogdan.

Afsnit 4
As Frank is about to enter the courtroom to defend Bogdan's decoy Martin Kodres, Brian calls and tells him to come see him at once, or he will skip town. Frank hurries to his hotel, where Brian tells him he has Bogdan's phone and that it contains evidence linking an up-coming drug deal directly to Waldman. Brian is the only one capable of deciphering the codes, and Frank tries to convince him to witness. Brian refuses, and Frank has to rush back to the courthouse. During recess, Frank overhears Waldman order a hit on Brian, and he calls Sara.

Afsnit 5
Sara slips through the police cordon to check on Patricia. She then comforts her distraught brother, but as he drives away she realizes he used their long, hard embrace to steal her gun. Frank heads straight for Waldman's residence to seek revenge.

Afsnit 6
Frank is secretly preparing his old colleague Fredrika for Daniella Ayala's appeal. While Frank grows optimistic, Waldman grows nervous, and he orders a hit on Ayala, hoping to get her before she gets out. Meanwhile, Sara meets with one of their father's old colleagues and uncovers the identity of a woman in a photo, standing next to her father.

Afsnit 7
Sara is finally close to raiding the workshop in hope of finding drugs and putting away Bogdan. But when her team moves in there are no drugs to be found. Bogdan watches her with a wide grin. He found her tracking device on his car days ago and has been toying with her since. Svend-Erik pulls Frank into a meeting with Waldman. Frank is terrified, sure that Svend-Erik is about to tell Waldman everything.

Afsnit 8
After Sara is relieved of duty and forced to hand in her badge, she realises she might be able to find Blanca through Instagram. She sends a message to a potential lead on Therese's account, pretending to be a friend of hers, intending to get in touch with Therese's mother. She then brings Frank to check on one of Bogdan's restaurants, thinking it might be used for drug deals. Frank reluctantly helps her, and she finds enough evidence to call her boss, who refuses to listen.

Afsnit 9
Sara chooses to trust Blanka's word. She burns all the evidence and what is left of her stash. She then tells Said to take the job in Boston to give her time to get her life in order, not knowing that Markos is after her. In the courtroom, Therese deals with the pressure of being cross examined.

Afsnit 10
In the season finale, Waldman orders Frank to come with him to Lithuania to make a deal, as he owes money to a Latvian drug trader and has to pay off in order not to be killed. But on their way to the airport, Waldman takes Frank's phone and then tells him plans have changed.
