A celebration of some of the UK's favourite treats, including a glimpse inside McVities, learning the secret of how the Jaffa Cake is made. Food historian Dr Neil Buttery attempts to break the World Record for the largest Jaffa ever baked. Plus, a profile of Debbie Wingham, who has made her name creating cakes for the rich and famous.

Episode 2
Cameras focus on the Roberts Bakery, which produces 2.5 million products each week. Meanwhile, aboard the maiden voyage of new cruise ship the Sky Princess, a look at how 21 pastry chefs provide their passengers with 8,000 portions of cake every day. Plus, a look at Kiplings' fondant fancies, and the success of Nigella Lawson.

Episode 3
The secrets behind one of Britain's most beloved malt loaves, Soreen. Plus, an interview with ex-Apprentice winner Alana, who has been making a name for herself on the Welsh coastline, hand-baking huge quantities of artesian brownies for local cafes and delis. Former art dealer Sebastian makes a birthday cake for Alan Carr, and he has chosen to work from a real-life pig's head, hoping to turn this rather revolting model into a delicious sponge cake for his friend.

Episode 4
A look behind scenes at Carluccio's panettone factory in Bologna. For just six months each year, this mega bakery works round the clock to pump out more than a million panettone, that is 1,200 every hour. Each one takes 36 hours to make and is created from a secret 130-year-old ingredient - affectionately known as the 'mother-yeast'.
