A woman without stories is found dead on a bench in a park, victim of a sting poisoned by the venom of an exotic snake. Astrid and Raphaëlle embark on the case and soon find themselves on the trail of a dangerous mafia hitman who had not been talked about for years. Why did he come out of the shadows again? Did this woman die by accident or was she involved in illegal activities? The two investigators have a hard time to get the truth out in the open. As always, Astrid's extraordinary sagacity is of great help to Raphaëlle...

Astrid and Raphaëlle will have to walk on eggshells when they find themselves in spite of themselves involved in a very sensitive diplomatic affair. The two investigators will deal with the French and American secret services...

Maxime Rivière, a friend of Commissioner Bachert, is the victim of a recurring nightmare concerning the murder of the Tibetan monk. Astrid makes the connection with the unsolved murder of the llama Tulku Lingpa, on May 20, 1996, in a monastery in Île-de-France. On their way there, the commissioner, who turns out to be a Buddhist, Raphaëlle, Astrid and Nicolas discover disturbing elements that question the guilt of the perpetrator of the murder, a drug addict who was prowling in the nearby forest. According to Raphaëlle, the crime was committed inside the monastery.

"The Last of the Aztecs"

Philippe Desmond, 65, is found dead at home, victim of an Aztec ritual sacrifice. The heart of this former archaeologist turned treasure hunter was extracted from his rib cage and then placed in a sacred urn. Raphaëlle and Astrid then go in search of the victim's adopted son, Necalli Cantu, a young Mexican living hidden in a forest. Questioned, the latter reveals to Raphaëlle that his father had found the Eldorado, the mythical land of South America supposed to be full of gold. According to him, he was killed because of his discovery...

A man belonging to the Mormon community is found murdered in a temple. Astrid and Raphaëlle soon discover that the murder strangely resembles that of Joseph Smith, founding father and prophet of the community...

A new victim of the formidable serial killer "the Werewolf" is found under a Parisian bridge on a full moon night. Our two heroines quickly orient their investigation on the trail of an enigmatic voodoo ritual...

A racehorse belonging to a prestigious stable is found stabbed dead. The case gets tougher for the two investigators when another crime is suddenly perpetrated...
