Batch from Scratch: Cooking for Less - Season 2

Season 2
Episodes

Episode 1
Guide to batch cooking, with Suzanne Mulholland and Joe Swash helping people in need of advice to stretch their food budgets. In this episode, they head to Yorkshire to help the Long family curb their food waste. With an average of £40-worth of food ending up in the bin every month, Joe and Suzanne hatch a plan to get the family's mealtimes back on track with a carrot and sweet potato dhal and a fish traybake.

Episode 2
Suzanne Mulholland and Joe Swash help the Burton family from Cardiff, who want to learn how batching can save the day when mum Becky goes back to work after maternity leave. From a slow-cooked buffalo chicken fake-away to homemade ice-cream, everything on the menu is gluten-free and fuss-free, helping to restore order and free up time.

Episode 3
In Oxfordshire, Joe and Suzanne help the Sellers family salvage their mealtimes from the chaos of long working hours and daily post-commute supermarket trips. At the top of Joe and Suzanne's list of goals is getting dad Rudi to relinquish control of the kitchen and demonstrate how much time and money one organised weekly shop will save them.

Episode 4
Suzanne Mulholland and Joe Swash help a single mother in Aberdeen, who is struggling to get her kids into healthy eating habits, regularly prepares multiple meals, and often doesn't have time to sit down at the table to eat herself. Suzanne and Joe create a plan to cut costs, reduce sugar, simplify dinnertimes and get everyone involved, kids included.

Episode 5
Suzanne Mulholland and Joe Swash come to the aid of a fitness-mad Surrey couple whose contrasting cooking styles are putting a strain on their relationship. On the menu are Mexican frittata, lamb traybake and a tag-team paella, plus Suzanne's ultimate batching trick - five freezer-ready chicken meals rustled up in minutes.

Episode 6
Joe Swash and Suzanne Mulholland head to Nottingham to help a busy NHS family with two energetic children whose mealtimes are completely out of control. Emma is juggling shift work, clubs, cooking and a painful spinal condition, while Matt's long shifts mean he rarely cooks. Their hectic schedule has left them short on time, short on energy and spending almost £400 a week on food, with 22 shopping trips in a week.
