Alan answers a call for help from Bethany Horowitz in a suit against a tobacco giant, but he suffers a crisis of confidence when the opposing counsel turns out to be an old girlfriend. Meanwhile, Denny is plagued by a case of performance anxiety.

Guardians and Gatekeepers
Jerry and Katie help a young woman sue a private prison after she was raped by a guard. Shirley's grand-daughter is arrested for fraud after she lies about her age to vote in the primary election. Alan and Denny sue a pharmaceutical company after Denny nearly dies from the drug interactions from the forty-two different prescription pills he was taking at the time.

Dances with Wolves
Denny is arrested for carrying a concealed weapon after shooting a mugger. Alan helps Joanna with a custody battle when her ex-husband tries to take away her daughter because Joanna is a sex-surrogate.

True Love
Alan agrees to defend Phoebe Prentice's husband after he is arrested for murdering his nurse. Alan isn't prepared, however, for how far Phoebe will go to keep her family together.

The Bad Seed
Jerry's sister comes to Jerry for help; it seems her son may possibly be dating his half-sister as they were both conceived from the same sperm bank. She needs Jerry's help to force the sperm bank to give them the donor information. Shirley and Alan help a young man whose brother died as a result of malpractice. The catch is, the brother was a soldier and died in a military hospital which is immune from malpractice suits.

Happy Trails
Alan and Denny are off to Utah on a road trip to a dude ranch where they meet an old nemesis. Shirley defends Catherine Piper when Catherine is accused of attempted murder against her doctor. Katie tries to get Carl to see the fun in life.

Mad Cows
Alan and Denny help a cattle rancher sue when the government tells her she cannot test every cow on her ranch for mad cow disease. Alan and Denny also make the mistake of discussing the presidential election on Election Day. Partnership votes are up again and Jerry wonders if he will finally be offered full partnership with the firm.

Roe
When a teenager comes to Alan for a judicial bypass to receive an abortion, Alan and Shirley are forced to consider their viewpoint after it's discovered why the teen wants an abortion. Jerry is arrested for assault after standing up to a bully in a coffee shop.

Kill, Baby, Kill!
Carl and Denny travel to Virginia to defend a prison guard accused of murdering a man dying of lethal injection. Alan and Shirley take a case of wrongful dismissal after a woman thinks she was fired for voting for John McCain.

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving at Shirley's house brings friends, enemies and more than a few bombshells to dinner.

Juiced
Denny and Alan learn Denny's "Mad Cow" has progressed to the point of actual Alzheimers; Denny finds an experimental drug that could help and the two set out to get it. Jerry and Katie represent a young woman who was admitted and then rejected from Harvard University because she took Ritalin to focus on her SAT test. After dealing with a very bored Catherine, Carl helps her sue the television networks for not broadcasting material for those over age fifty.

Made in China
When Shirley learns the firm has been sold to a Chinese company she takes steps to try and block the sale. Alan prepares for his Supreme Court appearance to secure an experimental drug for Denny. Denny proposes marriage to Alan to ensure his medical, legal and financial wishes are carried out.

Last Call
Denny and Alan run into trouble when they try to obtain a marriage license and are forced to defend their decision in court. Alan presents his case for Denny to receive an experimental Alzheimer's drug to the Supreme Court. Shirley and Carl deal with the last minute details before their wedding.
