The body of a German corporal is discovered in the Parcels Office, but despite evidence of murder, the Kommandant treats the matter as one of suicide. The British decide to carry out their own investigations to prevent reprisals from the Gestapo.

Flt Lt Carrington is entrusted with a delicate task which leads to a daring attempt to escape.
