Cameras return to the front line of Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital, following a man who fell from a scaffold, impaling himself upon a flagpole. Also, a 73-year-old faces life changing injuries after an accident at home, and an open neck wound needs emergency surgery.
Episode 2
Jackie is rushed into the emergency room, with two life threatening stab wounds to her abdomen. The knife is still in place and the medical team need to find out what internal organs are damaged. Farmer Matt is airlifted to Birmingham Queen Elizabeth Hospital after losing control of his quad bike and crashing head first into a tree. He has suffered multiple fractures to his skull, and there is a bleed on the brain.
Episode 3
At The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Birmingham, Colin is rushed into the emergency room with life changing injuries after a firework exploded in his hand. Abdul arrives at the emergency room with serious injuries from being hit by a car, followed by Mark, who has fallen down a flight of stairs and suffered a traumatic cardiac arrest.
Episode 4
Charlotte is rushed to the emergency room after being involved in a head-on collision, leaving her potentially paralysed. Twenty-three-year-old Luke is fighting for his life after suffering a massive asthma attack during the night. Graham needs a lifesaving operation to remove a tumour that is located in the lining of his brain, but the operation involves huge risks.
Episode 5
A young mother is rushed into the emergency room after apparently collapsing and banging her head. Unconscious and unable to breathe on her own, doctors urgently need to determine what caused her collapse. Eighty-two-year-old Clive is at risk of pneumonia after falling from a ladder and sustaining serious injuries to the left side of his chest.

A man is rushed into the emergency room after a road traffic accident. He has bad bruising and lacerations on his face, but the most concerning injury for the medical team is the intense pain the patient is feeling in his back. After suffering an asthma attack, Amanda has had a severe reaction to her medication. Her tongue has swollen and she is struggling to breathe.
