The German-born psychologist Cathrin Blake (Désirée Nosbusch) has lived in Galway since her studies, her love for Liam Blake (Barry O'Connor), a detective inspector, kept her in Ireland. Cathrin specialized in criminal psychology and worked with her husband in the Galway police force - until ten years ago, Liam suddenly disappeared without a trace. When one day the buried skeletons of small children and an adult man are found on the site of a former "Magdalen Home" of the Catholic Glenmore Abbey, Cathrin is sure that it is Liam. Except for Callum O'Connor (Vincent Walsh), a former colleague and friend of Liam's, Cathrin's hunch falls on deaf ears.
