Nach einer Preisverleihung für Herrn Achtziger findet Jo die Catering-Mitarbeiterin Isabell Wanninger tot in der Stadthalle auf. Die Kommissare Hansen und Kaya nehmen die Ermittlungen auf. Sie finden heraus, dass Isabell Wanninger abends ein Collier des Starjuweliers „Rosewood" trug – nach ihrem Tod trug sie es jedoch nicht mehr. Verdächtig ist das Ehepaar Kempfert. Handelte Sandra Kempfert aus Eifersucht? Oder schlug Thomas Kempfert zu, weil seine Affäre sich weigerte, ihm das Collier zurückzugeben? Und dann ist da noch Isabell Wanningers Catering-Kollegin Elisabeth Krause, mit der die Tote kurzfristig den Dienst getauscht hatte.
Hatte sie ebenfalls Interesse an dem sündhaft teuren Collier? Außerdem war Dr. Baumgartner mit einer attraktiven Frau auf der Preisverleihung und hat alle in dem Glauben gelassen, dass sie seine neue Freundin sei. Doch in Wahrheit hat er sie erst am Eingang der Stadthalle kennengelernt. Als die Cops aufgrund des Mordes anfangen, Fragen zu stellen, kann Dr. Baumgartner natürlich nur schlecht zugeben, dass er seine „Freundin" eigentlich kaum kennt.
