Firmenchef Ferdinand Lob wird in seiner Villa leblos aufgefunden. Alles deutet zunächst auf eine natürliche Todesursache hin. Frau Stockl bekommt allerdings mit, dass Ferdinands Sohn Thomas bereits dabei ist, eilig Wertgegenstände aus dem Haus zu schaffen. Der emsigen Sekretärin lassen die mysteriösen Umstände keine Ruhe. Sie vermutet ein Verbrechen, vielleicht sogar einen Mord. Sie setzt Polizeihauptmeister Mohr und Polizeiobermeisterin Arnbruck auf diese Spur.
