The daughter of a local official was found murdered in a small Altai town. After examining the case, investigators assume that this crime is connected with a number of other unsolved murders. Could this episode be the work of the infamous Barnaul maniac? The tangle of mysteries is being unraveled by Belova, a local opera house, and Terekhov, an investigator from Barnaul. Clues and guesses lead them to a mysterious savage girl who grew up in the taiga.

In the town of Umai in the Altai region, the daughter of a local official goes missing. Her belongings are found in the forest near the town. A search team is being prepared to search the taiga.

Belova and Terekhov are trying to get information about the murder scene from Tonka. But the girl is acting strangely.

Belova helps Terekhov get out of another scrape and sends a voice message with critical information about Tonka's parents, which could have a significant impact on the case.
