In 1984 Bokaro, desperate for his late father's job, Rishi meets union leader Chunnu. In 2016 Ranchi, City SP Amrita Singh is caught in red tape trying to solve a reporter's murder.

Amrita cannot believe the rioter's identity and confronts her father. Back in 1984, while trying to find a place to live, Rishi meets Manu and is completely smitten by her.

To protect her father, Amrita continues her job and diverts the SIT to Bokaro. Back in 1984, in the midst of rising communal tensions, Rishi begins tutoring Manu.

In Bokaro, Amrita and Vikas begin their probe into the riots. Meanwhile, Gurusevak gets an unwelcome visitor. Back in 1984, Manu and Rishi face a new challenge in their relationship.
