Inside Birmingham Children's Hospital - Season 2

For the children and parents in this episode, tough life lessons have an added dimension, but they're determined to push on through, in the face of uncertainty. Four-year-old Rosie has leukaemia. Her dad Chris has put normal life on hold to become her full-time carer as he and her mum Jenny do everything they can to help Rosie in her fight to get better and start walking again. Fifteen-year-old Joseph was involved in a serious road traffic collision six years ago. He still struggles with serious hip pain and with GCSEs looming his mum is determined to find out the cause and get him off of the painkillers in time for his exams.

This episode follows children at the beginning of what could be a long relationship with the hospital, and a remarkable teenager who's coming to the end of life-changing treatment. Twelve-year-old Anaaya has been rushed into the hospital struggling to breathe, suddenly unable to walk and in need of urgent treatment. Her devoted mum Nicola has to call upon all her reserves of strength to support her daughter as they are told she has a life-altering condition. Meanwhile Awais has leg pain and a loss of appetite. He has leukaemia and doctors are concerned that the pains may be an indication that the cancer could be spreading. And five-year-old Skye is brought to hospital by ambulance after having an epileptic seizure at home.
