La chute
August 15, 2021, Kabul falls to the Taliban. An Afghan family must choose to leave or stay, while the French embassy remains open, Giovanni, an Italian diplomat, faces the flight of his ambassador, and Vera, a member of the German secret service, hopes to return to Kabul to save an Afghan general she once knew.

Le siège
The Taliban are taking over the city. While Gilles, the head of security at the French embassy, tries to organize the evacuation of refugees, including Zahara, a wanted prosecutor, Giovanni deals with hygiene issues at the airport, and Véra sets out to find General Hassan without the support of her superiors. At the same time, Fazal, a soldier in the routed Afghan army, takes refuge with Martin, an American agent he once knew, and Amina must confront the Taliban's takeover of the hospital and hesitates to flee.

La menace
Gilles decides to negotiate with the Taliban to organize the evacuation of his refugees by bus. While Giovanni tries to get his first Afghan refugees off the ground, Vera, guided by one of General Hassan's soldiers, arrives at a Taliban camp where the general is believed to be imprisoned. At the same time, Amina flees the hospital with little Nooria, while her brother, Fazal, under American orders, infiltrates an Islamic State cell preparing an attack.

La nuit
The French Embassy bus convoy sets off into Kabul, escorted by the Taliban. While the Islamic State prepares an attack against the convoy, Fazal, an infiltrator, attempts to foil it. At the same time, Amina, who was attempting to reach the airport, is arrested by the Taliban. Giovanni confronts the chaos of Abbey Gate, where he attempts to identify Italian refugees. Vera, surrounded by the Taliban, attempts to flee to Kabul with General Hassan.

L'attente
Following the failed attack on the French embassy convoy, the Americans learn that the Islamic State is planning a large-scale attack on Kabul airport. Martin and Fazal will do everything to prevent it, while Gilles organizes a second convoy to the airport. At the same time, Giovanni searches among the crowds at Abbey Gate for the parents of an abandoned Afghan child, Vera and Hassan look for a way to reach Kabul, and Amina, who also arrived at Abbey Gate with Nooria, tries to find her father to flee the country.

Le départ
Time is running out; the Americans have just ordered the closure of all airport gates due to an imminent threat of attack. While Baqir, Amina, and Nooria are still at Abbey Gate, Vera and her team approach the gates, and Gilles searches for a way into the airport with his group of Afghans, Joe, an American soldier, scans the crowd with binoculars, looking for the terrorist...
