In 1993, Beth and Joe continue to see each other secretly, regardless of the repercussions among their friends and Josh's depression from the cancelled wedding. Josh however manages to lift Gregory's funk - if not his own - by offering to finance Gregory's film. Once on the set, Josh enjoys playing the role of producer, particularly when one of the actresses seems interested in him. Ignoring Athena's suggestion that he's on the rebound, Josh winds up taking Valerie home and getting stoned with her. He finds himself happier than he's been since the breakup with Beth, and he wants to sleep with Valerie, but she seems more interested in his money and stories about going to parties with the likes of Donald Trump. Athena meanwhile tells Gendel that she won't have sex with him again, because of Gregory. And Joe continues to worry about Carlito's involvement with the stolen computers, even while he flexes his new muscle at the firm by giving both Anderson and Teresa the brush-off. In 2001, Gr
