Mary, Tom, Cathy, and her Armenian boyfriend are at Loretta's recording session, while Charlie and an engineer are in a booth. Loretta is singing with her pianist and guitarist accompaning her. Cathy and her Armenian boyfriend make out in front of Mary and Tom. Cathy slips a chocolate covered raisin into her boyfriend's mouth and Mary asks Tom if they can buy some chocolate covered raisins. They keep having to have many takes for Loretta's song because there are either interruptions or technical difficulties. While she is singing her song entitled ""Mama Was a Beauty Operator"", Mae and Ralph enter. Loretta and Charlie greet them. Mae and Ralph then sit down in the audience booth. Mae says hi to Tom. Mary asks Tom who she is. He tells her she works in pay roll at the factory. Mary asks what happened to the other heavyset lady who had to wear corrective shoes. Tom says she had kidney faliure. The recording session lasts late into the night. We see it at 3:00 AM. Tom & Ralph are both aslee
