Cardinal Kevin Farrell was handpicked by Pope Francis to be camerlengo, which involves running the Vatican in the days between when a pontiff passes away and another is chosen. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has denied the military details he shared were classified, but three U.S. officials familiar with the matter tell NBC News the information was given to him by a top general through secure channels. Earlier in the week, he will lie in state, and members of the public will be able to pay their respects. More than 200 educational institutions joined together to sign a statement against the Trump administration condemning what they say is government overreach and political interference. Elon Musk told investors during a Tesla earnings call on Tuesday that his time at the Department of Government Efficiency will drop significantly starting in May.
