Crews in New Jersey are working to contain a massive wildfire that has burned more than 12,500 acres, caused thousands of power outages and sent huge plumes of smoke into the sky. NBC News' Sam Brock reports. People waited for hours for the chance to enter St. Peter's Basilica and pay their respects to Pope Francis. Police in New Jersey are urgently searching for 23-year old Lauren Blackburn, a Princeton University student who went missing last weekend. NBC News' Ellison Barber reports. The interview was Garber's first since Harvard sued the Trump administration over frozen federal research funding. Garber took a lead role among educators in pushing back on the administration's efforts to bring sweeping change to top U.S. universities. Beginning May 7, airline passengers must show a Real ID to board domestic flights. The rollout has repeatedly been pushed back, and an NBC News analysis shows many states are less than 50 percent compliant. NBC News' Tom Costello reports.
