One Happy Family - Season 1

The Coopers are off on their honeymoon.

Gussie, the maid and cook, is sick in bed, so Penny decides to take over the cooking chores. She starts with a Spanish omelette for breakfast - and drops it in her husband's lap.

Dick's being encouraged to go duck hunting with his father-in-law and grandfather-in-law. But Penny's got it from her mother that duck hunting's no good, and she doesn't want Dick to go.

Penny's mother and Grandmother, seeing how romantic the newlyweds are, try to get their own husbands to be more debonair and charming.

Dick is getting help from Grandpa in trying to stay out of the plumbing business.

It's Charley's birthday and the rest of the family gives a surprise party for him. Everyone wishes the old gent a happy 60th birthday - but Charley insists he's only 59. 

Dick takes a job with his father-in-law's competitors.

All three generations are confined to the house by a downpour. Keeping everybody entertained becomes a problem.

Dick is going up in the world - to make his first parachute jump for the Weather Bureau.

A series of quarrels with Barney convinces Mildred that she needs to get away from it all. She's all set to leave her husband - as soon as she finds her wedding ring.

"Mildred for President" is the household cry. Even Barney wants his wife to run for the women's club office - he thinks the publicity will be good for his plumbing business. 

Barney and Mildred are planning a "Big Night Out" with a business client, and the grandparents and the young folks will have to sit this one out. Dick and Penny have the impression that the plans are a cover-up for a surprise party in their honor.

Because of his weather-bureau experience, Dick is asked to become a television weather man.

The ladies of the family are getting tired of housework, and decide to make their lives more interesting by opening their own business - a maternity shop. 

Barney has been planning to surprise Dick with a membership in his country club, but now he fears the plan won't work out - there's a business rival on the membership committee who may try to blackmail Dick.
