Port reveals their shared musical heritage and we hear from their musical friends who have roots in Orkney. Accompanying Julie and Muireann are renowned Irish musician Liam Ó Maonlaí and, from the US, Liz Carroll. Among the musicians playing with them will be Kris Drever, The Wrigley Sisters, The Unthanks and Lynched. Liz Carroll and Muireann meet local musicians Billy Jolly and Owen Tierney for a rendition of local tune Butter on the Bow.

Port reveals their shared musical heritage and we hear from some of their musical friends who were raised in Ireland. Accompanying Julie and Muireann will be two acclaimed Scottish musicians: Pàdruig Morrison from Grimsay and the renowned Morayshire piper Calum Stewart. Amongst the musicians performing with them will be Deirdre Scanlan, uillean piper Mickey Dunne and Derek Hickey.

Inverness

Inverness

In this episode, they visit Inverness to discover more about traditional music in the town and surrounding area. Accompanying Julie and Muireann on this trip are renowned Irish singer Aodán Ó Ceallaigh and esteemed Donegal fiddle player Liz Doherty. Julie and Aodán meet local singer Ellen MacDonald to learn a song by Màiri Mhòr nan Òran, which was composed in prison in Inverness. Muireann takes Liz Doherty to meet musician and broadcaster Bruce McGregor and they collaborate on Highland and Donegal fiddle tunes. Calum Alex MacMillan shares one of his favourite songs with Julie and Aodán which they later sing together. On a visit to Strathglass, acclaimed Highland musician Duncan Chisholm tells Julie and Liz about the background to Mo Rùn Geal Òg, a song written by Christina Ferguson, wife of William Chisholm - standard-bearer of the Chisholms of Strathglass at Culloden. The episode culminates in a session at folk music bar, The Waterfront.

Sligo

Sligo

In this episode they visit Sligo and Leitrim in Ireland, an area renowned for flute and fiddle traditions. Accompanying Julie and Muireann on this trip are acclaimed piper Dr Angus MacDonald of Glenuig and Linda MacLeod, the young singer steeped in the musical traditions of her native North Uist. Local singer Niamh Farrell teaches Linda and Julie the beautiful ballad Eileanóir Na Rún and Linda returns the favour by sharing songs with Muireann, Niamh and Julie. For Dr Angus, a highlight of the visit to the north west of Ireland comes when he travels to Kiltyclogher and meets patriarch of a musical dynasty, Ben Lennon, and accompanies his brother Charlie Lennon and son, Brian, on a set of tunes. Mary McPartlan sings a favourite song with Julie, about Drumkeeran, where generations of her family lived and they visit Mary's favourite location on earth, on the family farm. The episode culminates in a session at folk music bar where local musical legend Carmel Gunning joins in the assembled cast.

In this episode they visit Belfast, a city with a long musical heritage. Accompanying Julie and Muireann on this trip to Northern Ireland are award-winning piper Brìghde Campbell and acclaimed Skye singer Arthur Cormack, a singer steeped in the musical traditions of his native island. They meet some of Belfast's finest musicians to share music and songs and collaborating with them are Seán and Róise Mac Corraidh, the celebrated singer Gráinne Holland, musician and music producer Dónal O'Connor and piper John McSherry.

In this episode they visit Argyll, a region with a long musical heritage. Accompanying Julie and Muireann on this trip are two Irish musicians, both of whom come from musical families: the acclaimed Dublin uillean piper Gay McKeon and Breanndán Ó Beaglaoich, the west Kerry accordion player. On the trip to Argyll, they share music and songs with some famous musicians. Collaborating with them are Karen Matheson and Donald Shaw; renowned musician Aidan O'Rourke; Anne Lorne Gilles; the award-winning piper Angus MacColl, appearing alongside his piping son Angus, and Alasdair Whyte, Ross Wilson and Sorren MacLean from Mull.
