Season 1
When a young archaeologist discovers a set of human remains, the Shetland community is intrigued to know if it's an ancient find or a contemporary mystery. And when an elderly woman is shot on her land in a tragic accident, Perez and his team find themselves at the centre of two feuding families whose envy, greed and bitterness has divided the surrounding community.

Season 2
Based on 3 novels by Ann Cleeves, 'Raven Black', 'Dead Water' and 'Blue Lightning'. Shetland follows Detective Inspector Jimmy Perez and his team as they solve murder cases on the Shetland Isles.

Season 3
When a young man disappears on the overnight ferry to Shetland, DI Perez and team embark on a challenging case that leads them from the Shetland Islands to Glasgow's criminal underworld.

Season 4
A convicted killer's return to Shetland after 23 years in jail coincides with the murder of a local journalist and Perez and his team must investigate both cases.

Season 5
A human hand washes up on a Shetland beach. A few hours later, more body parts are discovered in a hold-all that has been dumped at sea. The victim is identified as a young Nigerian man, spotted in Lerwick a few days before. In investigating his murder, DI Perez becomes involved in the search for a vulnerable young woman, leading him to uncover a complex network of human trafficking across Scotland's remote rural communities.

Season 6
The forthcoming new series centres on the doorstep murder of a prominent local figure, a case which strikes at the heart of the Shetland Isles and its people. As Perez and his team uncover a kaleidoscope of motives for the murder, their investigation soon takes a shockingly sinister turn.

Season 7
The team investigate the mysterious disappearance of a vulnerable young man. The investigation draws Perez into the secret past of a family new to Shetland, revealing an unimaginable threat to the community.

Season 8
The acclaimed murder-mystery series is back for a thrilling, new six-part tale, as Met detective Ruth Calder returns to the Shetland Isles on the trail of a vulnerable witness, teaming up with Tosh on a case that will test their fragile, new partnership.

Season 9
A double missing person's case blurs the lines between the personal and the professional, as Calder and Tosh are drawn into a labyrinthine investigation. When Tosh's friend, Annie Bett, goes missing she suspects something is seriously wrong. Ruth Calder - now living in Shetland - has no time to recover from a life-threatening ordeal of her own, as together they set out in search of Annie and her young son, Noah.

Acclaimed murder-mystery drama Shetland returns for a tenth series as Calder and Tosh are drawn to a remote village following the sinister murder of an elderly woman. As they begin to unravel life in this close-knit community, shocking, long-buried secrets rise to the surface with unexpected consequences for all – including the team.
In the isolated hamlet of Lunniswick, the body of the retired social worker Eadie Tulloch has been out in the elements for a number of days. Suspecting the residents are holding back about their relationships with Eadie, Calder and Tosh begin to unravel a complicated web of lies. Worse still, there's a personal link to the case for one of the team, testing loyalty to the limits.
