A routine stop turns into a parent's worst nightmare when a 6-year-old boy is abducted during a carjacking. Tess and Jake race against time to rescue the child, tracking the kidnapper's potential motivations and leading to a tense standoff. As the case culminates in a high-speed chase, Tess's empathy helps defuse a potentially fatal situation, reuniting the boy with his family, and forcing Tess to reflect on her own troubled family dynamics. Meanwhile, Sunny faces fallout from her sleepwalking, putting her relationship with Kye at risk.

Lost in Translation
A sleep-deprived Sunny has the day off, as Tess gets pulled into a 911 call with an injured man locked in a steel drum who has no idea who, or where, he is. As Tess navigates motives of revenge and a business rivalry in a race against time to uncover the location of the victim, Sunny takes drastic actions to maintain her fragile sense of safety, convinced she witnessed a murder on her building's CCTV cameras. As the case culminates in a dramatic end, Tess struggles with revealing her own hidden truths to rescue the victim.

Family Matters
Tess investigates a pastor's daughter, whose sudden disappearance stirs deep tensions within her devout family and close-knit community. As Tess digs into the young woman's world, she uncovers a hidden life, exposing long-standing conflicts within her family. But when a trusted figure within their church is violently attacked, Tess finds herself questioning whether the young woman is truly a victim. Meanwhile, Sunny is forced to confront her own unresolved family issues, as she uncovers digital clues that shed light on the young woman's double life.

Don't Look Back
Tess is forced to revisit her legally blind diagnosis when a lawyer leverages her vision loss as grounds to open a case involving her eyewitness testimony, which could put the case and her consulting role with the police at risk. When Bennett and the rest of the department keep Tess at arms' length, she begrudgingly accepts the help of new detective Owen Cooper to solve the case a second time. In an attempt to work through the mounting pressure, Sunny begins sessions with her new therapist.

Strangers in a Game
Tess and Sunny pursue a killer who uses an untraceable ghost gun to take down powerful victims with no discernable connection to each other. As the threat of a spree killer looms over Metro PD, Leo asks for Tess's support to investigate the anonymity of digital worlds where dark alliances and online fantasies have real life consequences. With Matt's help, Tess and Sunny work against the clock to dissect perfect alibis and expose the killer before another life is taken. Meanwhile, Sunny gets carried away in her healing journey.

Rekindling
Tess reunites with Jake on an undercover mission to dismantle a criminal network from within. The operation takes a turn when Tess comes face-to-face with the man she believes killed her mother 20 years ago, forcing her to perform a delicate balancing act as she tries to get to the truth while keeping Jake safe from the murderous gang he's infiltrated. Meanwhile, Sunny's actions catch up to her after she takes a risk in an attempt to convince herself that she has cured her agoraphobia.
