Arriving in the capital, Dasha, an art critic from the province, dreams of a new, better life, but the mysterious death of her friend, the mistress of an influential official Marina, changes everything.

Investigator Elena Shirokova, the best in her department, honest and principled, takes on the key to solving the girl's death. The investigation brings her into the world of metropolitan glamor and introduces the oligarch Gleb Olkhovsky. However, the chain of deaths does not end at the Marina, and the life of Lena herself begins to change dramatically.
