Her two friends, aged 15 when they left the UK, are still there along with - it is estimated - hundreds of other radicalised young Muslims. Should they be encouraged to come home and have a chance of rehabilitation? Should it be made easier for people to return from Syria?
Catholic Bishop Edward Daly died on the 8 July, aged 82. He will forever be remembered for an iconic image when he was photographed waving a white handkerchief as he escorted people carrying a dying teenager during what became known as Bloody Sunday when 13 people were dead shot by British soldiers during a civil rights protest in Londonderry in 1972. More than a thousand people attended Bishop Daly's funeral in Derry and he has been variously described as a 'walking saint' and 'the people's bishop'.
