The Kitchen

William and Elizabeth Shatner have always wanted a large, spacious and beautiful kitchen that is more conducive to entertaining their friends and large family. That dream will finally be fulfilled when they take down the walls that separate their dated and dark kitchen from their dining room and River Room. The whole kitchen will be taken down to the studs and rebuilt from the ground up with custom cabinets, lighting, tile, countertops and appliances ? oh the appliances! There's even an area for their 3 beloved Dobermans complete with a doggy-dedicated dishwasher, oven and sink! It's a stunning transformation with all the fancy bells and whistles you'd expect in Captain Kirk's kitchen.

Living & Dining Room

William and Elizabeth Shatner want to take advantage of their gorgeous valley views and bring the outdoors in. And they're going to do just that by knocking out the entire front of the house and opening up the living and dining rooms onto what is now an outdoor patio! Once those walls are knocked down both rooms will extend onto an enclosed front entry where the shabby outdoor patio now stands. Gorgeous new hardwood floors will replace the dated, creaky, weathered ones that are there now, all new recessed lighting will replace the old and of course all new furniture will complement the gorgeous new spaces.

River Room & Powder Room

William and Elizabeth Shatner spend most of their time in a room they call the River Room. It's where William likes to go to read scripts, meditate and be creative. It hasn't been touched in over 30 years and unfortunately it's looking its age. Bill and Liz will knock out the wall that separates it from the kitchen, rip up the old pavers and replace them with new hardwood floors and totally revamp the fireplace. They're also transforming their current entryway into a powder room by blocking off the front door, laying new floors and of course bringing in all the necessary bathroom accoutrement. Along the way and secret passageway is discovered only adding to the excitement of the remodel!

Front Patio
Season 1Episode 430 min

Front Patio

William and Elizabeth Shatner have never loved the front of their 100-year-old home. The front door is tucked away, down and around the front patio, so their guests have no idea where to enter, the wrought iron trellises that are holding up the overhang are rusted and the terra cotta tiles are chipped and worn. William wants a grand first impression for his friends and family and he'll get it by completely demolishing the existing front patio and in its place building an enclosed front entry, complete with arched windows and a grand front door. Inside, new hardwood floors will replace the terra cotta tiles and the ceiling will get the same hardwood treatment as the floors, giving the new room a warm and welcoming feel. They'll also knock down the walls that currently separate the front patio from the living and dining rooms, giving the whole front of the house a wide open, breezy feel.

Media Room/Office
Season 1Episode 530 min

Media Room/Office

William and Elizabeth's media room/home office is the smallest room in the house but might be the one most used. Since they don't have a television in the living room or family room, this is where they like to gather with their 3 Dobermans, friends and family to watch movies and read. Unfortunately the couch is torn to shreds and the rest of the room is taken up by a larger than life massage chair. William wants the room to have a better sound system for all the films he watches and music he likes to listen to. Part of the remodel includes a large walk-in closet that will also get a total re-haul and be upgraded significantly. But before that can be built William has to open the doors of the Murphy bed he installed 30 years ago and hasn't opened since ? what he finds might shock you but one things for sure - when it's all said and done William will have a media room fit for a king ? or in this case, a Captain!

Party Room (The Big Media Room)

Football is BIG at the Shatner house and so is the room in which they host their weekly football parties. Unfortunately, however, it's no longer functional and the dark, worn furnishings are beyond outdated. William and Elizabeth want the space completely re-imagined and they're using a painting they purchased in Greece as the inspiration. Their designer will execute their vision by completely remodeling the kitchenette that's in the room with new counters, cabinets and fixtures. Their old worn out carpeting will be replaced with hardwoods, the oppressive cathedral ceilings will get a white wash treatment that greatly opens up the room and of course all new furniture will breathe new life into the room. It's one of the biggest transformations of the series, going from burnt reds and oranges to light, bright and airy blues and yellows. Football season will never be the same at Chez Shatner! Let the games begin!
