Unforgotten - Season 2

Season 2
The second series will feature a brand new story from creator and writer Chris Lang who once again explores the fallout from the investigation into an historic murder case.
The story begins with the discovery of a body. This time the perfectly preserved remains of a middle aged man found in a sealed suitcase in the silt of the River Lea in northeast London. As Cassie and Sunny begin the complicated task of trying to identify the victim, we will meet four unconnected people who we suspect are linked in some way to the victim.
The dead man turns out to be David Walker who disappeared in 1990 and left behind a wife, who has since remarried, and her son who is now in his early 30s. Their story will run across six episodes and will draw upon very current themes and jeopardy.
As the investigation progresses, we're introduced to Brighton based lawyer Colin Osborne, paediatric nurse Marion Kelly, school teacher Sara Hamoud and DI Tessa Nixon, the victim's wife, a respected police officer months away from retirement.
The complex and emotional plot takes us across the country to the Cotswolds, East London, Salisbury and the South Downs. It is directed once again by Andy Wilson (Ripper Street, Endeavour, Poirot), produced by Tim Bradley (Death in Paradise, Primeval) who was also responsible for the first series of Unforgotten and executive produced by Sally Haynes (HIM, Unforgotten, Bleak House), Laura Mackie (HIM, Unforgotten, Cutting It) on behalf of Mainstreet Pictures. Creator and writer Chris Lang is also an Executive Producer.
The drama will continue to explore some of the themes of the first series, but the primary theme will be our society's relationship with evil. When exactly does a good person start becoming defined by society as a bad person, and at what point in their life does a damaged child stop being exempted for their crimes allowing us to simply label them evil.
Episodes

Episode 1
The new series starts with the discovery of body found in a sealed suitcase in the silt of the River Lea. With the body preserved but clearly having been there a number of years, DCI Cassie Stuart and DI Sunny Khan begin the complicated task of identifying the victim and investigating his murder.
With an expensive watch found on the body the only evidence to go on, the item is sent to forensics who suggest approaching a watchmaker who may have repaired it to find out more about its owner.
Meanwhile, we meet four seemingly un-connected suspects who may have a link to the victim – DI Tessa Nixon who is struggling with her loner son, nurse Marion Kelsey who works with chronically ill children, Brighton-based barrister Colin Osborne who is in the process of adopting a little girl with his husband, and teacher Sara Mahmoud who is interviewing for a new position in a school that needs turning around. How do any of them link to the victim, though, and why would one of them kill him?

Episode 2
Detectives Cassie and Sunny begin to find out a bit more about who David Walker was through speaking to his ex-wife Tessa.

Episode 3
Further examination of David Walker's history suggests that he was a troubled man with a number of issues. Marion has a prickly chat with Cassie about her past and the investigation reveals her close relationship with an IRA activist. As the police enquiries encroach on their lives, Sara and Colin open up to their partners.

Episode 4
A disturbing allegation about David opens up a second line of enquiry for the team. How much Tessa actually knew about David's life threatens to ruin her relationship with her husband and son. Marion gets into trouble at work and jeopardises her marriage by refusing to open up about her past. After having his phone stolen and information exposed, Colin is blackmailed again - and Sarah's secrets push her family to breaking point.

Episode 5
In the penultimate episode of the series, Cassie turns her attention to investigating the goings-on at the Brentford house and the theory that one or more of the suspects may have been abused at the gatherings that took place there.

Episode 6
With each of the suspects having a motive, opportunity or connection to victim, David Walker, Cassie and Sunny try to join the dots to discover who actually killed him 25 years earlier.

WWE Saturday Night's Main Event returned to NBC in March 2006 after a 13-year hiatus. When Jon Lovitz, Dennis Miller and Dana Carvey weren't performing comedy sketches, WWE Superstars were squaring off in matches that often took on a pay-per-view feel. The show's original theme song was "Obsession" by the band Animotion, but by the time the first run of the series ended in 1992, the music was changed to a generic theme.
