In this programme, Stornoway-based vet Hector Low is using needles with a difference on a pug. Instead of an injection, this dog is getting acupuncture treatment. In Angus, the vets from Forfar are kept busy with horses, from two Clydesdales to a miniature Shetland pony, but it is the little one that gives them the biggest problem. And, at the Wildlife Rescue Centre, vet Romain Pizzi has his hands full with newborn hedgehogs and a tiny woodmouse.

In this programme, Professor Ian Ramsey at the Small Animal Hospital at Glasgow Vet School is treating a cat with a thyroid problem using radioiodine. Because it is radioactive, the cat has to spend the following fortnight in an isolation ward. At the Wildlife Rescue Centre, vet Romain Pizzi is treating a buzzard and a seal. And, in Forfar, vet Fiona Crowden is kept busy with a cow that has become entangled in wire, and she visits a dog who has a special set of glasses called 'doggles'!

In this programme, Romain Pizzi is treating a wide variety of animals at Five Sisters Zoo near Livingston including a wildcat, a monkey and a fox. With nearly 200 different species at the zoo, he's always kept busy during his monthly visits. In Aberdeenshire, Graham Hunter performs dramatic looking spinal surgery on a horse while she is standing. Meanwhile, in Stornoway, Kay Falconer treats a turkey with breathing difficulties and an uninvited robin makes an appearance. It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

In this programme, the oncology ward at the Small Animal Hospital at Glasgow Vet School treats many forms of cancer. Professor Clare Knottenbelt is in charge of Skippy the collie's chemotherapy treatment, and radiographer Shona Burnside is treating another dog, Harry, with radiotherapy. Meanwhile, vet Romain Pizzi is busy tending birds at the Wildlife Rescue Centre near Alloa, where an injured sedge warbler and peregrine falcon are in for treatment. And, in Forfar, vet Fiona Crowden has her hands full with a litter of seven-week-old police puppies that are in for their first check-up.

In this programme, vet Scott Rigg has the challenge of operating on one of the largest breeds of dog, Midas the Boerboel who weighs 64 kilograms. And his next patient for surgery is Poppy, who is one of the tiniest breeds of dog - a dachshund. At Highland Wildlife Park, vet Jane Harley is kept on her toes with the lively markhors as they get their regular hoof trim, and she observes horse trainer Bonnie Mealand as she works with the wild Przewalski horses. And in Stornoway, vet Micheal Brannigan has been called to a cow that needs urgent treatment in Harris, but he has to overcome the challenge of travelling by road over a snowy Clisham - the highest mountain in the Western Isles.

In this programme, vet David Buckland is on his weekly visit to Barra which means catching the ferry from Eriskay and getting through his long list of calls in time to catch the last ferry home. At Blair Drummond Safari Park, vet Ali Smith is castrating one of the elands, which is a large antelope-like animal. The keepers have the challenge of trying to use the jab-pole to make the Eland sleepy without him noticing. And in Aberdeenshire, vet Scott Rigg repairs a Staffie's damaged tendon.

In this programme, vet Michael Brannigan has an emergency call to a pregnant sheep in Lewis, while his colleague Kay Falconer is busy back at the surgery with small animals. Her cases include a collie that injured his leg while stuck in a fence, and a duck that was bitten by a dog and damaged its bill. At Glasgow Vet School, a young pug has been struggling to walk since he jumped off a sofa. An MRI scan reveals a serious problem with his spine. And in Aberdeenshire, vet Graham Hunter performs delicate surgery on a horse. But before he can start, the anaesthetized horse needs to be hoisted into the theatre upside down.

In this programme, vets Fiona Crowden and Ingrid Kidd are in Angus to operate on a foal with a hernia - but they have to sedate the mother as well to keep her calm. At Five Sisters Zoo, Mo the gibbon has injured her finger after fighting with her younger sister. Vet Romain Pizzi has to knock her out so that he can repair the wound, but catching her is the biggest challenge. And it's lambing and calving season in South Uist, the busiest time of the year for vet David Buckland.
